The journey playing the piano – Your travel from beginner to advanced
Whether you already play the piano or if you want to learn, I'm happy you stumbled on this page. It means there is one more person out there in search of a better way to add music to his life, or perhaps improve on a skill set already in place.
Anyway, welcome. The good news is, I helpful tips for any level you can be. I invite you to discover your potential and take the necessary steps to achieve your objectives.
BEGINNERS, do not be shy:
If your idea of a scale is something in your bathroom that seems like you know donuts, you are certainly among the beginners. But seriously, if you only know a handful of basic chords, a song or two, or you never touched a keyboard, you want to learn the basics.
I recommend you take a course in music theory introduction. Want to learn the names of the notes, the practice of balance, start putting together agreements, and embrace the art of repetition. That's the key to pick it up on the basics is a mark on your psyche, increase your skills, training your hands to do these stretches are not used to, and find the link between body and spirit that will allow you to play naturally.
At the beginner level, students should have the patience to put learning songs and performance styles in favor of familiar learning agreements, fingering, etc. Good news is, with the right training, you can go through the beginner level fairly quickly. Of course, good training is, at best, half of the equation. Your ability to master the skills above will depend on your determination to practice every day. Just as physical training, through the motions to correct a little each day, you can do a lot more practice every so often incompatible.
How you decide to learn is your preferred method of absorbing new information. Some people are visual, others are sound. What this mean to you, you may need to learn to play with the aid of sheet music (visual) or listening to someone play a note or a agreement and that you copy them (phonetically). The latter method is also known as playing by ear. Most sites that promote lessons piano provide a sample of their style of training so that you can try before you buy. It's a good idea to try both so you can start working in the right direction and not waste time learning in a way that against your learning style.
INTERMEDIATE LEVEL:
At this point in your teaching piano, you need to know all the scales, styles of popular agreement, and be able to perform with confidence. This does not mean it must be a virtuoso. At the intermediate level, many musicians can find work playing in different places. But their powers are limited.
Now is a good time to reflect on the type or types of music you want to play. Want to study classic? Are you more into jazz or blues? Do you prefer to rock? Or are you saving yourself for religious styles, like the Gospel? With your skill level through, you understand and progressions of chords you use in your chosen genre. Now you need to focus on lessons that show you the fundamentals, nuances, and the tricks playing behind a particular style.
As my advice for beginners it applies here too: whether you are a visual or auditory learner and choose the package you are most likely to understand, appreciate, and stick with.
And again, practice!
ADVANCED ARTISTS:
Congratulations, you've come a long way in your musical journey. But you are far from over. With your advanced skills, you can sit with another musician or group and play together. You can listen a song and learn with relative ease, or perhaps you can open and read the sheet music scores as easily as you read a printed text. And perhaps you are ready to flex your creative horizons and explore new ones.
Some performers do not know how to recognize when they have passed the intermediate level. It does not matter, it is clear thereafter. If you are already comfortable scene, but you want infuse your music with more complex structures of understanding, is creative, or you want to add another one to your home directory (which many French!) you are most likely peak and ready to take a bigger challenge. It has been said many times, learn to play music is not a destination but a journey.
Many professional artists play multiple instruments. They are skilled guitarists or drummers who also play a little piano. It is not uncommon to meet a musician who is very good at any instrument he or she decides to learn. If you are just such a person, and Piano is one of your secondary instrument, consider how you might benefit from lessons real.
I discovered some courses outstanding piano peak that can be purchased online. Take time to evaluate the publishers' websites and read the comments if possible. Most package of courses are moderately priced, so you should not have trouble finding a good lesson affordable system.
And in case you forgot already, you still need to practice! Remember to keep the fun in fundamentals. Learn to play the piano can be lot of work, but it is a form of entertainment and should never be a chore. Good luck!
