Help me! I am desperate for advice / tips?
So I took the choir last year and this year, but do all the classes I want next year I have no room in my schedule for choir. And to be honest, I do not really chorus that much because I do not like learning the gospel and spirituals and things to play for any school. I prefer to learn songs that I love and I sing them just for fun! I can not afford singing lessons either. (But I was told several times that I have a good voice, does not to brag.) I'm taking piano lessons, so if I play scales and warm ups and stuff and then sing the songs I'm learning on the piano, will it be similar to what a class choral or vocal lesson offer? Is it lame to say "Yeah, I practice the piano and singing regularly "When we are asked, even if I do not take singing lessons real? Please give me your opinion. Thanks!
Honestly, this Just my opionion, I do not think singing lessons a great help. Yes, they have exercises to help you reach higher notes and other things but if u impractical, as u said that you do, u could be really good. r people always say how I have a beautiful voice and I never taken lessons but I do not play instruments and sing in church regularly. Another thing is to get a CD of a singer to look up to u sing songs with them, holding all the notes and go up or down low, what they do. This has been my most useful tool. Hope this helps!
