Solo Jazz?

Well, I posted several questions and I'm really doing my best to continue to deepen my knowledge of jazz improvisation and solos. I played saxaphone for 5 years and have played piano for 12 years. Now, if I see a chord progression, I think three things, either write the scale, play the blues scale, or play the pentatonic scale. I need to know what I should do or what I should do to improve my solo yet. I do not want to be stuck with the blues scale amateur the rest of my life, I need to learn to further progress my ability as a jazz musician. What would you do if you saw this chord progression? (FYI this is Sandu Clifford Brown) These chord progressions are for alto saxophone: C7 F7 C7 C7 F7 F7 C7 C7 G7 C7 D-7 G7 How would you use solo if you were given the chord progression that? I just need to get a more comprehensive tools to use. Popular

These answers above are good. I would say very openly that you, as you suggest a chord progression blues, listen to Charlie Parker "Time" on the Verve label and listen to how he sings just his instrument during his solo. He blends tones of agreement, some blue notes is say minor pentatonic riffs and solo all sounds like something that was written as a melody. Please listen this recording is very important! You must aspire to play a solo that sounds like a melody and not just the same old tired riffs played fast. Please get off the habit of playing only the pentatonic scales for solos! You label as a non-musician quickly. This model easy way. There are many transcriptions of solos of great players wrote that you can buy. Learn to play what someone else has been going give you an overview of their ideas and outside of your own. Best of the exercise is to incorporate someone else's solo yourself. You'll learn much to do. But it's hard work and a lot of time.
