Learn to play guitar – A Beginner's Guide
This article is devoted to learning how playing guitar (and even those thinking about learning to play or give the gift of music to a loved one) and how to address get some kind of proficiency on the instrument. Now people, we have all seen playing guitar on several occasions, sometimes on television, sometimes close up (a real treat), playing different types of music and various skill levels. I think the hardest obstacle to overcome when you learn to play guitar or thinking about starting is the idea that playing guitar is something musicians can do, or only for people who are musically inclined. The fact is that any can learn to play guitar. It's just a matter of spending time with her on a regular basis, and practice in a manner which is both fun and productive. Once it becomes part of your routine, it is a matter of time before your skill level and confidence grow.
When I started learning the guitar, there were a couple of learning support that I found to be essential. They include:
- Learn to play guitar chord reference book – It is very useful when you're not sure how to play an F chord or a minor, or if you want to learn from other B Ways to Play
- Artist Songbook – This is a collection of songs that the piano, lyrics and guitar chords to the songs of your favorite artist, and is ideal for learning to scratch and changes rope rope
- Classical Guitar Book – This helps you to familiarize yourself with the sensation of scales and arpeggios, and also improve your sight reading
- Guitar Tab Songbook – As you progress, you will have to play some guitar parts of your favorite songs note for note, which means exactly as your favorite guitarists plays them. This type of book that has music in both standard notation and guitar tablature
I guitar teacher had a very perspicacious started each lesson by showing me a new agreement and how to play. Some good reference books agree that with these types of agreements are the entire book of guitar chords and the first book of guitar arrangements for both written by Dan Fox. Once I had an idea of the rope, he would choose a song from a songbook of one of my favorite bands who used this agreement ( such as a minor or an A7) and would I learned using a model song Strum appropriate. My mother played the piano, and not often visit the music store to buy collections of scores of his favorite artists, so I finally bought me a few gems like:
- Complete Beatles – It is a valuable book for two reasons. The first is that it is the Beatles. The second is that The Beatles made songs with relatively few and very easy to play chords ("I saw her standing" has three), and also songs with multiple agreements and often unorthodox ("Michelle", um, a lot), especially when used in rock music. This makes it an ideal vehicle for learning new chords gradually through their songs
- Neil Young – Decade – My brother was on this record and when I started to play some tunes from his guitar, he gave his little brother some instant credibility. Many songs in this book were recorded by Neil on guitar, so it lends itself to a beginner learning on an acoustic
- Led Zeppelin Complete – It is a strange and beautiful book. It has the main guitar riffs for each song on Led Zeppelin first five albums (I – IV and House of the Holy), but it is in standard notation. I spent a summer learning about each song in this book and not only improve my guitar playing, but as my sight reading
- Eric Clapton Deluxe Revised – It contains some of the best songs cream, disk Layla Derek and the dominoes, and some of the work of Eric solo at first, but it is unique in that it has a separate section some of the best guitar solos of Eric transcripts. Eric is a great model when you start learning to play a guitar solo, because some of its solos are simple enough that they can be played by an early intermediate guitar player (even if it takes a lifetime to learn to play with a lot of emotion as Eric)
Once we've covered the chord of the week and the song that went with it, we tackle a song classic. One of the best classical books that I can recommend, especially if you're not a classical guitarist, classical education is that of taking guitar style – Volume 1. This book is great for developing your collection right and also for developing your sight reading since all music is in standard notation. There are some interesting pieces by Matteo Carcassi, you need arpeggiate different agreements, and also some Bach Inventions arranged for guitar duet, so you can play with a friend. The only thing that has changed over the last ten years in the sheet music for guitar is the emergence of tablature songbooks guitar. In the late 1990s, an archive of guitar tablature files was created collectively called On-Line Guitar Archive (OLGA), in which randomly guitarists around the world created their own text files containing transcripts of how to play your favorite songs by your favorite bands. The problem is that quality and accuracy of the transcript has been hit or miss. Business partitions finally understood and started to release specific transcription note for note books, which were the real deal. In my time, you were a god if you could play the guitar solo, "Eruption" played by Eddie Van Halen Van Halen I off, because you had to learn it by ear off the record, which is almost impossible. Today you can just buy the Van Halen guitar Songbook tab and I get all the music for two of the eruption in guitar tablature and standard notation. Oh, and they also throw in the rest songs by Van Halen I, and Van Halen II, as well. I always liked the intro-bump that Eddie plays in Mean Street, which opens the recording Fair Warning. The Van Halen Guitar Anthology Series has the tab for it, note for note, including all the harmonics last pick scrape, fold and press. That's incredible. And it's not just Van Halen. You can find collections of similar songs guitar tab by The Beatles, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Matthews Band, Nirvana, Green Day, Audioslave and anyone about what you think.
Finally, as you develop your practice routine, the only thing the most often neglected in practice is to be able to play in time. When you begin to learn chords and scraping, there is a natural tendency to stop or hesitation when switching between the strings. A good metronome will make you aware of this force and you can play in time. The Qwik Time QT-7 Quartz Metronome is a good budget option and provides a click sound, while wooden case Wittner Metronome w / Bell and is the kind of coverage, you can always cling and transmit from generation to generation (and I know – I have one of my grandfather). The Fender MT-1000 Chromatic Tuner / Metronome is unique as you get both a metronome and a guitar tuner in one convenient package. Very handy indeed.
You too can learn to play the guitar today! Hopefully this gives you some direction as you learn to play guitar. Remember that simply a matter of spending some time regularly practicing certain basic principles and then applying them to your favorite music. Continue increase your knowledge of basic chords and learn to play songs that use them, as well as ways of scraping the melody. Combined with classical pieces for more dexterity and develop your sight reading chops, you'll be well on your way to mastering the guitar in no time!
