Books for Piano books Piano Top To help you become a better piano player
There are thirty-six pounds zillion piano available in music stores online at places such as Amazon. And piano books are usually necessary if your goal is to become a better pianist.
But how do you know which books are needed and piano in which books are redundant, to say nothing of good or bad. There are books on music theory, scales, chords, books about composers, books on music in general, and of course books Schaum piano lesson, Williams, Alfred d'Auberge, Bastien, John Thompson, Glover, etc., etc.
The best way is to divide the study of piano playing into its components:
General lesson piano books:
Although there are many, for adult beginners I would choose the Bastien series entitled "The adult beginners" It is excellent for adults, and includes quite a bit of music theory at the piano.
General books on music:
By far the most inspiring book music in general is "The Joy of Music" by Leonard Bernstein. If you want to wrap your brain around music, this book is for you. (Berstein if you do not know, was both a great leader and a great composer, having written "West Side Story" and many others.)
Another great choice would be "what to listen to music" by Aaron Copeland. (He was also a great composer.)
Technical books
The best book I found for the development and technical skills is a piano book that has been around a hundred years, but it is still the norm. It is "the virtuoso pianist in 60 exercises – Complete Piano Technique" by CL Hanon.
music theory books:
There many, most of which are complex and difficult to understand, but a good choice for a beginner is "Idiot's Guide to Music Theory Michael Miller.
Books about piano chords:
In this category, I'll have to throw all modesty aside and choose my own book "Piano chords and Chord Progressions: The Secret Backdoor to excite piano. There is extensive, cheap and easy to read and understand.
song books:
In addition to books that teach all aspects of playing the piano, you'll need several good songbooks so you can practice things you learn. The piano books you select are largely a matter of taste: if you like rock, you want to buy books of rock songs. If you like jazz, or gospel, or pop or whatever, you want to get the song books appropriate to your tastes and flavors.
But in addition to piano song books regular, make sure you are receiving a book "false." A fake book is a book that contains the melody, lyrics and chord symbols for songs. Usually a fake book has more than a thousand songs, so it is a huge deal.
When I was a teenager fake books were illegal, but they were sold under the counter for musicians of all time. I paid $ 50. for my first fake book (which I have, actually) which contained only 200 songs. fifty dollars back then is similar to the national debt today. But something was working musicians were have.
Now fake books contain thousands of songs and sell for much less – often just $ 25. or so. So be sure to choose a site – preferably several, as they come in all flavors – jazz, folk, western, gospel, pop, and just about any other musical classification that you could thinking.
All these books can be obtained at your local music store or online stores like Amazon.
Then there is another category entirely different from piano books that are part of an ongoing audio-visual. Usually, these books are complementary with the DVD or CD (or both) that includes the course. This type of piano books are new in world history, because it is evident DVDs and CDs have not existed for so long. This type of course is all together, therefore, in addition to reading a book, you can hear the instruction and see a demonstration on your TV or computer screen clean.
But all the books you choose, the important thing just started learning in all areas of music.
